The Role
Bloomberg is looking for qualified legal analysts to join its law products group, BLAW,
specializing in legislative and regulatory processes and developments. Each legal analyst in this group will create, organize, and develop innovative current awareness and research
products, including high-level analysis of new legislation and regulations, specialized
research and tracking tools, and evaluation of political and regulatory risk, for a diverse
audience of legal information consumers.
Knowledge of state and federal legislative process and the agency rulemaking and regulatory process is required, as is the ability to analyze complex legal concepts within the legislative and regulatory space and to translate those concepts for a broad legal audience.
Additionally, some travel is necessary.
Qualifications:
- Law degree from an accredited law school
- Various levels of experience needed
- Knowledge of legislative and/or regulatory processes, and demonstrated interest in public policy
- Ability to travel for extended periods
- Excellent editing, legal research, analysis, and writing skills
- Ability to complete assigned research and writing projects by prescribed deadlines
- Must be able to work in a fast paced, detail-oriented environment
- Effective communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal
- Prior law journal or legal writing experience is desirable
